When I found out the big three were Syesha, David A and David Cook; I was really sure that Syesha would not make it; because the fanatics fans usually are female, and they support the boys.
Let's find out the strengths and weaknesses of these two finalist:
DAVID ARCHULETA
This seventeen year old boy wonder has amazed Paula Abdul since his audition in San Diego. There is an innocence aura in his performance, which can melt audience's heart. Moreoever, technically speaking, David has a great vocal technique. His soft-a bit husky voice gives him a different taste and character especially for singing ballads. Throughout the competition he has proved the judges that he could overcome many difficult songs with heartfelt performance.
The only weaknesses is also his innocence; some of my friends comment that he is to nice to be the winner of American Idol, we don't know whether he can be tough enough to face the hardness of entertainment industry. However, if he gets proper support from his family and management, I am sure that he will soar to the rainbow.
DAVID COOK
It can be denied that his fans would adore his charming look even before he opens his mouth to sing. David Cook has been granted with cool look and attitude which are prefered by a lot of female fans. His simplicity in his singing is his strong point. He does not put too much fake acting in his performance - just be David Cook, genuine, original and straight forward.
This attitude proves bringing him to be the finalist.
Personally, I think that his vocal technique is below the other finalist, but he is not so bad either. The judges several times mentioned about his pitch control, but it seems that weakness so far has not bothered people to vote for him.
His older age also gives him more advantage, he definetly will be more ready to exist in the industry without need to be worry about finding his own identity.
So which David will walk to the top?
