Although a little bit late, I have to post the story about our Christmas Cantata. My church, First Baptist Church of Eastwood has delivered the Christmas Cantata on Dec 17, 7 pm. It went very well. We've got the second largest crowd ever (since I've joined with this church). The first largest was the funeral service of one of the member.
We prepared this cantata for about three months; and incredible! Overall the choir sang beautifully; we got a lot of compliments: "It is the best cantata ever", "We feel the most ready to perform in this Cantata", "I can understand all the words, the dictions are very clear". Well... good job for all the choir members; we're only 9 people (Small choir with a big heart and voice!); and this is the first choir I ever had that 98% of the rehearsals all the members showed up! SOLI DEO GLORIA!!
I got the Cantata on video; my friend Camly helped me to record it.
Please pray for this church, even though the music program is doing great, but the church is nearly decreasing in numbers. Some folks has left the church without any clear reason. Please pray that the pastor, the deacons, and us (music people) can work together to bring glory to God; pray that God grants us vision and wisdom to shepherd the church.
