The Friendship of Hobbittes

Samwise Gamgee:

"I cannot carry your burden, but I can carry you ... "

Have you guys seen Lord of The Ring? It was a good movie (or should I say "they were"). One that catch my attention are the friendship among the hobbittes; among Merry and Pippin, and the incredible loyalty of friendship showed by Frodo and his garderner Samwise 'Sam' Gamgee. Sam has showed his loyalty and quality of a true friend of Frodo; not merely a friend in good times, but mostly in bad times. His loyalty of friendship proved when he was still loyal to Frodo eventhough Frodo had let him down several times, yet Sam kept on his promise to take care of his Master Frodo.

The question is, do we still can find a true friendship such as exist in hobbit's world? What proverbs said: A friend who sticks closer than a brother? Or the next question: have we been a true friend for others?
I couldn't admit if I am a true friend for others; nevertheless I keep on trying to be one. But I could recall friends who have let me down - who betrayed the loyalty of friendship - all whom I still grateful for what they had had done and had been to me. Moreover I could mention, even only a few, friends who are loyal and so call 'bestfriends'. May God bless you my friends, and may He strengthen our friendship - to help and support each other in the journey of life that would lead us into the next eternal life. Amen
